That he, Kwasi Afrifa, having been informed about an alleged unethical conduct in the office of the Chief Justice by his former client, Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta VI, failed to protect the sanctity and integrity of the legal profession by not letting the Disciplinary Committee of the Judicial Council know of the alleged bribery by the Chief Justice of the Republic of Ghana

According to the lawyer, his client, Ogyeedom Obranu Kwesi Atta, the chief of Efutu and Gomoa Adjumako whose case he was conducting had informed him that the Chief Justice demanded a bribe of USD$5 million to fix the verdict of a case before the Supreme Court

Subsequently, Justice Kwasi Anin-Yeboah denied the allegation in a statement and directed the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) of the Ghana Police Service to look into the matter.

“to ensure that this matter is fully investigated, His Lordship has directed that a formal complaint be made to the Criminal Investigations Department of the Ghana Police Service for investigations and any necessary action. He further directed that a Petition be lodged with the Disciplinary Committee of the General Legal Council in respect of this specific matter,” part of a release from the Judicial Service signed by Secretary Justice Cynthia Pamela Addo said last Monday.
